“Kids & Stress” with Janet Edgette, PsyD
This program was presented to parents whose children are in kindergarten through eighth grade, along with educators. Dr. Janet Edgette addressed the stress being seen in young children and adolescents, both nationally and locally. We discussed ways that families and educators can foster resiliency and guide young people toward healthy ways to cope with stress, rather than experimenting with substances, or engaging in other risk-taking behaviors.
This program was hosted and funded by the Great Valley School District, Malvern, PA.

Elementary school years are the ideal time for families to begin important conversations about substance use, with special sensitivity toward young children. This program helps adults to understand risk and protective factors, supports for conversations with kids about substance use, how to explain the struggle some individuals have with substance use, and ways we can empower ourselves as parents.
