from 11 am to 12 pm

We missed seeing you this spring and we are very excited to be able to celebrate with you online!

Thank you for your generosity, support and patience!

You’ll hear from some of our Conversation Youth Inspiration Award recipients, our featured Honoree, and other special guests!

Wow! You and the entire Be a Part of the Conversation community have shown your resilience and continued to show up as we have taken our programs online. Since COVID came into our world, we have been together for more than 30 online programs, and counting!

We continue to grow because of the support we receive from friends like you!

The December 6 “Conversation Celebration” will provide a perfect opportunity to share our work with friends and colleagues, honor some amazing individuals, and spend an hour celebrating with people who believe in reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and building a culture of support.

I hope you will join us!

Kim Porter, CFRS
Executive Director, Be a Part of the Conversation

We can't wait to see you!

Comments from attendees at our online programs this year…

I am in awe of your grasp of technology and the ability to bring important issues to the public despite the COVID crisis. It is so helpful to hear from a mix of professionals and real life folks who have been through the recovery process. This program summed up and explained what is a very complex situation.Presenters offered a balanced approach to the topic supported by scientific research.I walked my computer over to my neighbor's house and shared the program with her. What amazing work you are doing. Providing a platform for these influential humans to speak to the rest of us is so appreciated and valuable.Keep up the great work! Always trying to think how more people could have the privilege of hearing your programs.

Conversation Inspiration Award

E. Steven Moriconi, DMD

E. Steven Moriconi, DMD frequently collaborates with Be a Part of the Conversation as a featured speaker for our “Shining a Light on the Opioid Epidemic” programs. Passionate about educating the public, as well as fellow prescribers throughout Pennsylvania, Dr. Moriconi’s message delivers a clear understanding ofsafe prescribing practices and the treatment of pain. He has become interested in substance use disorder, particularly opioid use, and feels that education about our current epidemic is very important, particularly as dentists have prescribed large numbers of narcotics over the years. He is currently the Pennsylvania Dental Association’s official lecturer on Safe Prescribing Practices. Dr. Moriconi’s two-hour course is required for dentists to be licensed in the State of Pennsylvania.

Since 1987, Dr. Moriconi has served as Chief of the Dental Division and Program Director of the Abington Hospital Dental Residency. He is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, having graduated in 1978, and completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. He also maintains a private practice in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.
